Þóra Rauðsdóttir
Character in Gísla saga
Born Friðarey, Norway
Died Sæból, Haukadal, Iceland
Spouse Þòrbjörn Súr
Parents Rauð
Children Þórdís, Þorkell, Gísli, Ari

Þóra Rauðsdóttir was Þòrbjörn Súr's wife and Gísli Súrsson's mother. The daughter of Rauð from Friðarey, she married Þòrbjörn following his brothers' death, after he inherited his family's wealth. She moved with him then to Stokkar, in Súrnadal, and had four children with him: Þórdís, Þorkell, Gísli and Ari.

Þóra was presumably living at Þòrbjörn's farm Stokkar when Einar Skegjasson and his brother Árni burnt it down as revenge for Gísli's killing of their father Skeggi, but she is not explicitly mentioned in the text as having escaped.[1] She evidently survived, though, as she later settled in Iceland with her husband, where she died peacefully.
